Curriculum Vitae

About Me: I was raised in a small community on the East coast of Newfoundland called George’s Brook --I was educated at Balbo Elementary,  Clarenville Integrated High School, and the Memorial University of Newfoundland.  I completed my first degree (Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, a second major in Philosophy and a minor in Folklore) from Memorial’s Faculty of Arts in the 2000 Winter Semester and the Convocation ceremony for my second degree (Bachelor of Education -- Intermediate/Secondary) was held in October, 2001.  I earned the degree of Master of Education (Information Technology) offered jointly through MUN and UCCB in the summer of 2007 and Convocated in October.  For the first four years of my teaching career, I taught at St. Joseph's All Grade -- a small school on Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula.  I have been teaching at Lourdes Elementary since September 2005.

     I enjoy helping other people and sharing the knowledge that I have accumulated – in my opinion, knowledge is useless unless you do something with it! As my students are all to sick of hearing me say: knowledge is power! All too often however, especially in the places that matter most, it is the case that “. . . information is a coin, and people are greedy to acquire it and careful how and where they spend it.” (Hunapu Matamoro, from Orson Scott Card’s Pastwatch, p. 170).
