For Educators

The School Page is an awesome site -- it serves as a launchpad for many interesting topics, all of which relate directly to education.  One of the coolest features of this site is that it has an interactive feature where you can ask an expert about anything you'd like, depending on the topic you select.

What page for educators in Newfoundland would be complete without a link to Memorial University's Faculty of Education?

This is a great resource developed by my English Methods 4144 class at University.  It contains writings, teachable moments, unit plans, lesson plans, etc.  We hope you like it!

Another great site that offers an entire unit plan called 30 Days of Poetry.  It is pretty useful, especially for those of you who like to teach poetry as a unit as well as globally.

Anyone stuck teaching a course in Technology like Microcomputers 1100 and are not sure how to go about it?  This site offers examples of lessons that might come in very handy.  They are interactive and quite comprehensive.

The Media Awareness Network is an incredible site that offers lesson and unit plans, teachable moments and ideas, etc. for every teacher who is interested in media education.  It is pretty big but it is very very good -- take some time and look around... you won't be sorry!

Memorial University of Newfoundland.  I was educated at this university as were many of the 8000 teachers that work in this province.

The NLTA -- The Teacher's Union in Newfoundland and Labrador.  My advice:  keep up to date with what is going on!

This site was designed by an English Teacher to aid others in teaching poetry.  It is truly a remarkable site.
