Journals

At the end of each week you are required to submit a journal entry.  This Journal can be based around anything you like: personal experience; something you've read; something we've talked about in class; a television show you've seen; a website analysis; etc... the possibilities are endless. While this is the case, and the assignment sounds easy, it is often quite difficult to find something to write about every week.  Keeping this in mind, I have included here a number of links that contain great writing ideas/prompts/suggestions.  Take a look and if you ever find that you are without anything to write, you now have somewhere to turn.  The purpose of the assignment is to get you into the habit of recording your thoughts and feelings -- your perception of the world.

There is no specified length for any given entry but it is understood that an entry ought to be worth writing and as such, should exhibit a sincere attempt at self expression.  The average length is 1-2 pages.

All entries are to be written in complete sentences and paragraphs.

Your journals are confidential -- I will read each of them but they will remain confidential unless otherwise agreed upon between both of us.  However, any discussion of illegal or otherwise inappropriate activity according to school/district/departmental regulations will be reported immediately.
